We have collected memories and blessings through out the years. Thanks to technology we have been able to capture some of that in pictures and Videos. Follow the links below for videos and stories.
Thanks to all that participated on our Golf Tournament. We raised $7,500 for the summer mission trips. Here are some pictures of all the activity that happened during the tournament.
At the beginning of 2009 there were plans for 5 different mission trips; however, the political unrest in Honduras changed those plans. The first trip included the youth from First Baptist – Frisco who ministered to the children of 4 different villages and helped with the foundation construction in the village of La Bomba (see note). The team for the second trip arrived 24 hours before the Honduran government was overthrown, which immediately changed the mission plans. While the initial plans were altered, the team did get to provide medical assistance to the small village located near the teams living accommodations. The remaining three trips had to be canceled as a result of the unrest. As the year ended, our prayers for Honduras were answered and the government and country have begun to stabilize with a new democratic government in place and the country returning to normal.
The village of La Bomba (la boom-ba) was formed 12 years ago to satisfy the need to provide workers to the banana plantations located in the valley outside of San Manuel. Translated "the pump", the village was so named because of its location in the mountains above the River Ula, which is the life blood of the Sula Valley. The village is very poor and only has a total 127 children. Because of the severe flooding that occurred in 2008, the banana plantations where the men worked to earn a living were devastated. This devastation has forced the men of La Bomba to leave the village for days on end in order to provide for their families. The village currently has one school building which provides education to 12 kindergarten children. The remaining children have to travel miles down the road to the village of Santiago in order to attend school. This travel occurs on public transportation at a cost to the student and in many cases, due to the cost, the children have to rely upon remote education that is transmitted on the radio.
The village is intent on building their second school building; however, because the men of the village have to leave for extended days in order to earn a living, the women and children have taken the responsibility to build the second school building. Our efforts were focused on providing workers and the funds that will help construct the second school room that will allow the children of La Bomba to go to school in their own village.
In 2009, North Texas Missions had 60 golfers participate in the tournament and we raised over $5,000. That money went directly to purchase the medicine that we took down to Honduras.
In 2010, we are praying for 100 golfers to help us raise $10,000. This year the money will be split between the four countries that are being supported by this years mission trips (Honduras, Bahamas, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua).
The mission continued to grow in 2008 by leading two successful mission trips to Honduras, the first where we conducted Vacation Bible School and Sports Camps to 5 different schools and the second where we provided medical and dental services to two communities. As a result of these trips, we were able to minister to over 2500 adults and children, with over 1200 accepting Christ as their personal Savior! In addition to the mission trips, we made significant improvements to the Promise Home orphanage by rebuilding the home where the caretakers reside and made great progress in the planting for our agricultural program.

The mission team traveled to the remote village of Susuli (SU-SU-Li) in the Matagalpa mountain region of Nicaragua. The message of salvation in Jesus Christ was given four times a day with each group of 300 people going through the evangelism services and children’s church prior to going in for their medical review. After the services, the people would line up in the Triage area to have their weight and blood pressure taken, then proceed to the Medical line for evaluation and treatment. Once they had been seen by one of the doctors, they received any necessary prescriptions before proceeding to the Dental and Optometry areas. Additionally, family portraits were taken prior to the evangelism services and each family received a gift of rice and beans and newborn packages for the new babies. Each night we topped off the day with a Tent Revival where approximately 300 people in attendance. The final night we were in the village we had over 400 people under the tent as the rain came down in buckets, but regardless of the downpours, God continued to work in the hearts of the villagers as we saw a number of individuals accept Christ as their personal Savior.
The trip was a phenomenal success because the love of Christ was being demonstrated through action. We received an added blessing by being able to witness 384 individuals professing their faith in Christ; however, we know there were countless others who continue to struggle with this all important decision. Our prayer is for the mature and new believers to continue to be discipled and grow in their faith and for those who heard the message of salvation but did not respond our prayer is that they would not delay their decision.

The mission team traveled to the remote village of Rio Grande in Nicaragua and ministered to the physical and spiritual needs of the village. With the contributions that you made we were able to minister to the spiritual and medical needs of this community in the name of Jesus Christ. Here is a brief listing of the work God did through us in the village of Rio Grande.

There is no better place to be then where God wants you, and that is exactly where we were in 2005 as we descended on the town of Nuevo Jerusalem in the country of Nicaragua. The team of 38, which originated from North Carolina, Mississippi, Texas and Utah, provided medical and dental assistance to over 3,000 villagers in 3.5 days. The days were long and the facilities were limited, but the joy and blessings that we received from seeing the smiles on the faces of the people we served made up for any temporary discomfort that we might have experienced.

Pueblo Nuevo, Nicaragua was the first mission trip where the vision for North Texas Missions began to form. It was on this mission trip where God began giving the vision of His ministry to the people of Central America to Bob Johnson and Steven Moss. This will always be a special trip because of the quiet little spark that God fanned into the flame that drives our passion for serving this region of the Americas. The song that plays on the video "Go Light Your World" by Chris Rice was specifically picked to inspire all of us to take the gift of salvation and share it with another lost soul on this earth, so they too can experience the awesome presence and power of our risen Savior.
