Deaf Education - Honduras

In 2010, God provided us with an opportunity to serve two deaf teenagers on our trip to Paujiles, Honduras. We taught expanded sing language and helped many of students with basic speech. In 2011 our Deaf Ministry expanded to over 35 deaf students and 20+ parents! In addition to the teaching, we were able to provide each of these students with a Honduran sign language book with some receiving a limited number of ASL (American Sign Language). What a wonderful gift this was!

In 2012, we are anticipating even more students who want to participate in the week long education sessions. We have an speech therapist as well as an audiologist who will be able to do hearing tests and possibly provide hearing aids. As we expand our ministry, we are recruiting deaf education teachers to join us and help provide quality training to these well deserving children.
