People are our Mission
Bringing God's love to the less Fortunate of our World
North Texas Missions provides life changing opportunities for
individuals to serve others by spreading the message of God's love to
those less fortunate around the World.
Founded in 2005, NTM provides trip opportunities so people can use their talents and skills to help people in countries that need it the most. Our mission serves Central America and the Caribbean, where we focus on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, providing medical and dental services, Vacation Bible School and sports related activities to thousands of men, women and children. In addition, we have provided financial and building assistance to orphanages in San Manuel and Portillo, Honduras, construction supplies and support to schools in La Bomba and Paujiles as well as financial support to help rebuild the kitchens of two local families in Honduras.
As the 2010 summer season comes to a close, we have seen God do some amazing things in our midst. Our trip to Eleuthra, Bahamas was a perfect blend of team members who were privileged to be able to provide help for the local community and encouragement to the resident American missionaries. In Honduras, we saw a renewing of our vision to provide support to this country. As a mission organization we are committed to expanding our medical/dental ministry next year to include an optometry mission as well as construction support for the Visitacion Padilla School in Paujiles. We will be partnering with the school to replace the 40 year old wooden roof with new steel rafters and covering. All this and the year is not even finished, this October we will traveling back to Nicaragua after a three year hiatus to serve the local church and seek God’s direction for future opportunities to serve.
These are exciting times as we see God change the lives of the people who serve as short term missionaries and in the lives of the people the Mission serves. Please pray about your involvement, whether to serve on the mission field or to provide prayer or financial support. God has great plans for you and we look forward to the opportunity to join together to meet the physical and spiritual needs of others.
"That Your way may be known on earth,
Your salvation among all nations" Psalm 67:2 (NKJV)
Well for me the mission trip has been the best instrument for reaching people for JESUCRISTO because at least in Honduras sometimes they don't have the possibility to get medical attention and even better, Integral attention because they are getting physical and Spiritual medicine in a mission trip for the Mission Trip are Great......
The most impactful moment was in Nicaragua when God used me to speak to a little boy sitting by himself . In that moment God told that child that he was special and that he loves that little boy. That boy's face lit up with a smile and he ran off. The greatest thing about that moment was to see God at work first hand. I was convicted by the Holy Spirit, to allow God to show his love in the most awesome way. All I did was be the vessel in which God carried his love to that little boy.
Some people were starving physically, many were starving spiritually. We delivered a bag of dry beans, a bag of rice, and a large tube of lard to cook with. The look on the face of the elderly woman as she reached through the fence to take hold of the welcomed food somehow made the pain of the rocky path and the retched humidity disappear. Her eyes and her smile said it all; we did not have to understand Spanish to understand “thank you”. We delivered food, but God taught my wife and I how to put our comfort here in the states aside and serve others out of love. We delivered the bread of life, the Gospel, the love of Jesus, the Son of the Most High God. It is because He first loved us that we desire to spread His love and grace wherever He would have us go.
Serving in Honduras and Nicaragua helped shape me into the person I am today
I can’t say enough about the opportunity I had to take a mission trip to Nicaragua. The experience was amazing, the people were touched, and the communities affected. The Lord was ever-present, and it was amazing to put my complete trust in God, and experience the awesome things He had to reveal. This trip changed my heart, affected my family in an amazing way, and gave me a life experience that will pay dividends for an eternity! What a blessing it was and will always be!
